Allen Weinstein, Historian of Alger Hiss Case, Dies at 77

Mr. Weinstein set out to write a book proving that Mr. Hiss did not pass government documents to the Soviet Union when he worked for the State Department in the 1930s, only to reverse his judgment in the face of the evidence.
